The Awareness Forum for the Newly Launched Investment Readiness Program:

Thursday, 21st August 2025. Mogadishu, Somalia.
The Somali Development and Reconstruction Bank (SDRB) convened an awareness forum for its newly launched Investment Readiness Program (IRP). This event brought together representatives from FGS agencies and business associations with the objective of raising awareness about the program among both public and private sector stakeholders.
The forum kicked off with a presentation on the background and mandate of the SDRB and its role in driving economic recovery in Somalia. This was followed by a detailed presentation on the IRP’s scope and its relevance for Somali business owners, particularly Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) working in the agriculture, fisheries, livestock and renewable energy sectors.
Participants from the meeting engaged in an active Questions and Answers (Q&A) session, contributing insights and posing context-specific questions to the SDRB team.

At the close of the event, SDRB Director General, Adam Roble, highlighted the importance of participants further amplifying awareness of the IRP among potential beneficiaries. He noted the gap between the large number of Somali entrepreneurs and the relatively few currently accessing formal financing channels, emphasizing SDRB’s commitment to bridging this divide as a means of unlocking growth for Somali businesses.
