Abdulaziz Al Hinai is an accomplished economist and development banker with over three decades of leadership experience in national, regional, and international financial institutions. Most recently, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Oman Development Bank (ODB), where he led strategic and operational reforms to support Oman’s economic diversification, expand SME financing, and promote entrepreneurship.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Al Hinai served as Vice President of Finance at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). He currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Open University. His prior board roles include Chairman of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP), Chairman of the Export Credit Guarantee Agency S.A.O.C. (Credit Oman), as well as Board Member at each of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), Oman Food Investment Holding Company (OFIC), Muscat National Development and Investment Company (ASAAS), and Oman Sovereign Sukuk S.A.O.C.
Dr. Al Hinai holds a PhD and MSc in Economics and Public Policy from Claremont Graduate University, and an MA in Development Banking from The American University, Washington D.C.
